Facilities & classes

We’ve built our facilities based on years of experience in the fitness industry and knowledge of the equipment that has a track record in improving health and fitness. We curate coach led sessions that suit your fitness goals using Wattbikes, Concept2 rowers and SkiErgs, alongisde functional training facilities.

Wattbikes

We love our Wattbikes and always have!

Phil, whom you’ll see a lot around the studio, was in fact the first person in the world to order and take delivery of Wattbikes. He’s very proud of that fact, so don’t mention it, he’ll never stop talking about it!

The Wattbike is the ideal indoor cycle for improving fitness,be it for general wellbeing or more focussed aims. The inbuilt power meters provide a wealth of information and we can be very precise about the intensity you exercise at. Using the “Polar graph” you can also work on improving pedal technique.  When you join our coach led sessions you can be sure that you are following a structured plan of training.

We run sessions every day, so please refer to our class timetable for full details of timings. The bikes are also available to use throughout opening times and we can guide you through using them effectively, as you follow your own programme.

Our coach led sessionson the Wattbikes, run on a 12 week “cycle”. You can book on to a single coach led sessionor join us for the full term. You can also choose to join in at any point in the term.

You don’t need to be a member to take part in coached sessions, just decide on the best session time(s) for you to attend, pay the fee and book on! Speak to us about availability and confirmation of the fee due.

How to book: You can send us an email and we will book the places for you and then let you know the cost so you can do a bank transfer.

Concept2 Rowers

We are passionate about indoor rowing and our Concept2 rowing machines are the gold standard of rowers. Rowing is an effective endurance and strength workout that works more of the body’s muscles than swimming. The action of rowing uses legs, back and arms. Using all those muscles means using a lot of calories; an hour on a rowing machine can dispose of between 600 and 1200 calories depending on your fitness level.

Like ‘real’ rowing, the machine supports you and there is no impact on your joints and with sensible eating is great for weight control. You’ll be amazed at the effect a structured programme of regular workouts will have on your stamina, strength, body shape and tone.

We give the option of partaking in coach led sessionsor doing your own thing! We run sessions daily so please refer to our class timetable for full details of timings.

Once again, you don’t need to be a member to take part in coached sessions, just decide on the best session time(s) for you to attend and book on!

Concept2 SkiErg

We’ve recently added a SkiErg to our studio, and we are already seeing the benefits it brings to our members. Like the rowers, the SkiErggives a full body workout and develops both strength and endurance. The Concept2 Rower and Concept2 SkiErg complement one another exceptionally well and by including both in your training programme you’ll have a more balanced and varied workout.

The SkiErg performance monitor gives a wealth of information, allowing you to track your progress. It also connects to many heart rate monitors and fitness apps.

Though we don’t offer a specific class for the SkiErg, we provide guidance on how to get the most from this piece of equipment and encourage using it during your training sessions.

Functional training

Being fans of functional training, our strength training area is based on this dynamic method of exercising.

Suspension ropes, Riptrainers, Kettlebells, dumbells, studio barbells and exercise bands are enough to develop an all over workout that encourages us to exercise in a way that makes us stronger and compliments sports training.

We can create tailored individual programmes to best suit your goals and fitness ability. We include a range of exercises that are interesting and dynamic, which therefore encourages long-term commitment. With this engagement and dedicated motivation to classes and programmes, you will in time see overall improvements to yourstrength and fitness.

Combine functional training with Wattbikes, Concept2 rowers and our SkiErg and we are sure you’ll feel fitter and stronger than ever before.
